The St. James Service Club periodically receives requests from local nonprofits when volunteers are needed for “boots on the ground”. The following opportunities are currently available:

  • SOIICF - provides food to those in need in Brunswick County (dry goods, produce, dairy, meats)

    • SOIICF Food Pantry in Boiling Springs has an immediate need for Thanksgiving “fixings”, everything but the Turkey.

  • Hope Harbor - serves victims of domestic abuse

    • Meal Train for Wednesday’s Empowerment Night

    • Drivers to transport meals on Wednesday nights

  • Power Walking Ministry - making sure every student has new tennis shows and socks

    • Shoe packing and delivery - December 6th @ 6PM

    • Sneaker and/or sock donations

  • Tutoring

    • Southport Elementary School

    • Bolivia Elementary School

  • Lower Cape Fear LifeCare - providing access to quality LifeCare, education and support for patients and their families

    • Companion sitter (no hands-on care)

    • Care Center Front Desk

    • Clerical Duties
