School Supply Drive July 13th - 27th

Help local families in need by donating to the St. James Service Club Paws and Pampers Blitz! Inflation has made basic necessities like diapers and pet food difficult to afford for many in Brunswick County.

From July 13th through July 27th, please drop off donations at any Troon Club or Fitness Center location. We are collecting:

  • For Children: Diapers (especially sizes 3, 4 and 5) and wipes

  • For Pets: Dog and cat food (any brand; please DRY FOOD ONLY)

Since it is a School Supply Drive, I'd like to play off of the idea of Supplying the Future.*****

Dear Neighbor,

Summer days are dwindling and along with autumn leaves we'll soon see bright yellow school buses coloring the streets and byways of Southport and Brunswick County. Which means that it's time to kick off the annual St. James School Supply Drive, scheduled for July 13th thru the 27th, this year. As one of Service Club's signature philanthropic events, the goal of this annual drive is to ensure that every child in Brunswick County starts the school year with the tools needed to for classroom success. And, to make certain that this year's event is the success it needs to be, we're reaching out to ask for your generous support.

It's so easy to make a difference! Throughout the Drive we’ll be collecting back-to-school essentials like pencils, crayons, and notebooks for local K-12 students who might otherwise go without. We’ve made it easy to select and donate teacher-recommended and child-tested supplies by posting a school-approved wish list on the Service Club website @ sjserviceclub.org. Even the smallest donation can have a meaningful impact on a student's educational journey!

To help brighten a child’s school year, you can:

Donate supplies (order online & ship direct to our team OR purchase locally & drop donations at any Troon Club or Fitness Center location.) Donate $$ (online at sjserviceclub.org/schoolsupplydrive) OR WHATEVER THE CORRECT ADDRESS IS Spread the word to friends and family

Donations will be distributed to Brunswick County Family Assistance, Community in Schools, and Hope Harbor Home for direct delivery to students before the first day of school!

We're hoping to deliver more smiles and fill more backpacks for kids-in-need, than ever before! Please help us make this a record-breaking Drive, so we can reach every child in need! Your sustained kindness and generosity make our community a better place.

Your donations will be distributed to the five Brunswick County nonprofits listed below, each of which is dedicated to supporting low-income families with infants, toddlers, and pets.


SCHOOL SUPPLY LIST

To make giving even easier for essential school supply needs, we’ve created an Amazon Wish List. When you shop the Amazon Wish List for children, your donations will ship directly to project chair Kim Baxter for distribution.

VOLUNTEERS

Want to get involved? We are looking for volunteers to assist with collecting donations from the clubs and gyms, as well as sorting items received from Amazon and Chewy.
