Treasurer Position Opening

Thanks to the generosity of our residents, the Service Club is the most impactful charitable organization within St. James, raising more than $3 million since its inception in 1997.

As we continue this important work, we are looking for a new treasurer, someone who will enjoy being a voting member of the Executive Board and helping us manage our finances.

The treasurer serves for a minimum of one fiscal year (July-June) and a maximum of four years, and our outgoing treasurer, Robin Festa, is quickly approaching her four-year mark. Robin will be there to mentor the new treasurer as she transitions to a new role within the Service Club, so she’ll be very close by to help.

The Treasurer’s responsibilities include:

• Maintaining the Club’s financial records in Quick Books
• Providing financial information/updates
• Issuing checks for expenditures and service projects
• Depositing cash and checks received
• Transferring PayPal receipts to the Club’s bank account
• Managing the Club’s debit card
• Providing information to our accountant for tax preparation

Experience with these tools and knowledge of the limitations and requirements for tax-exempt organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code is useful.
