2020-2021 Grant and Project Recipients
For the fiscal year 2020-2021, the St. James Service Club raised over $153,000 in funds and Gifts in Kind to support the nonprofits in Brunswick County. We could not have done this without the support of our generous community! Please see the list of recipients below:
SJSC is pleased to announce the following recipients of the 2020-2021 grants totalling $72,000:
❖ Brunswick Family Assistance - $9,000
Provide emergency assistance to families and individuals in crisis.
❖ Christian Recovery Center, INC. - $5,000
Support expansion of the Center’s faith-based rehabilitation program to serve those suffering from active addiction to alcohol or drugs.
❖ Brunswick County Computers 4 Kids - $1500
Provide computers for students in low-income families.
❖ boys & Girls homes of lake waccamaw - $13,000
Provide comprehensive residential and community-based services to meet the needs of vulnerable children by addressing physical, emotional, social, educational and spiritual development. This grant will support their mission to address the needs of the children they serve.
❖ Waves 4 K.I.D.S. - $6,000
Support the Brunswick County Foster Care System with funding for kids clothing and school supplies.
❖ Hope Harbor Home, Inc. - $11,500
Provide emergency funds to help women and children in transition due to domestic violence which has increased dramatically since COVID-19.
❖ Matthew’s Ministry - $11,000
Support the weekend backpack food program for students identified as food insecure in 13 county schools.
❖ New Hope Clinic - $15,000
Support the primary medical care, plus specialty clinics for urology, EKG, dental, diabetes treatment, and medical eye care. It will also support the Pharmacy Assistance Program.
Service Project/other monetary (Covid) Recipients totaling $41,037:
❖ Southport-Oak Island Interchurch Fellowship Food Pantry (SOIICF) - $16,150 (food drive)
❖ community in schools - $1,687 (school supply drive)
❖ brunswick senior center - $5,340 (Cindy’s angels)
❖ brunswick family assistance - $10,665 (school supply drive, cindy’s angels)
❖ boys & girls homes of lake waccamaw - $2,580 (cindy’s angels)
❖ hope harbor home - $1,000 (school supply drive)
❖ naeir - $2,540
❖ new hope clinic - $1,075 (COVID)
