Trivia Night 2024
Trivia Night is Back!
The Service Club is thrilled to announce that Trivia Night is back! Join us on Saturday, January 27th, 2024 with your team of ten, your dinner, and (maybe) your beer and wine. Don’t have a team of ten? We’ll find you one!
Doors open at 5 pm and Trivia will start promptly at 6 p.m. Come early to peruse the silent auction tables and start your bidding. We have a lot of exciting items and gift certificates this year to bid on.
Captain emails will go out in the next week for details so you can plan for your evening of fun. If you have not yet sent in your team and/or player names, please send that information as soon as possible to: trivianight@sjserviceclub.org
NEW THIS YEAR: A LIVE AUCTION on several higher dollar items including 3-night stays at a Caswell Beach condo and a downtown Southport cottage and a custom jewelry piece made by a local master jeweler.

We will have a few select silent auction items open to proxy bidding (our volunteers will make your bids for you up to the maximum bid you set). Watch our website for more details on the items offered for both the Live Auction and Silent Auction proxy bidding.
Here’s How the Proxy Bidding Works
Welcome and Thank You for supporting the St. James Service Club fundraising efforts thru your silent auction proxy bid. Your bid will be increased, by set increments, until your maximum bid is reached. Remember - there may be other bids, both via proxy and during Trivia Night by those present. Proxy bidding forms will close on Friday, January 26th. Items will be on display during Trivia Night in the community center hallway - please let a volunteer know that you are a proxy bidder wanting to look at an item.
Once the silent auction closes on Trivia Night, the winning bidder will be contacted. The winner will have one week to pay for and collect their treasure. We can accept cash, check made out to St. James Service Club, or credit card.
How trivia night Works
There will be 3 rounds of 10 questions each, followed by a final round with a single question. Thirty seconds are allowed between questions. Each round will be separated by a 15-minute period for scoring, visiting, & revealing the answers. There will be 2 rounds of General Knowledge questions and one composed of video and audio clips with questions about music, movies, and TV shows. For the final round each team can wager any or all their accumulated points for the final general knowledge question.
